Adjective Choices 1 Bookmark and Share

In this exercise you have to decide if the sentences are right or wrong. The sentences are in pairs and each contains an adjective formed from the same root as the adjective in the other sentence, but with a different meaning. Look at the sentence pairs and decide if they are right or wrong. If they are wrong, then the adjectives have to be exchanged.

1. These days airline pilots train on virtual systems created by computers before they get the chance to fly a real plane.
2. He lived a very virtuous life. He never lied or cheated, or abused people and always tried to do the best for them.

3. Peter Reynolds is the best 1500 metre runner in the world this year. He has won nine successive races, so today he is attempting his tenth in a row.
