We have published the first in a new series of grammar and vocabulary practice books: The Liondale English Language Series Volume 1: Grammar and vocabulary practice for intermediate and advanced students. This is the first in a series of books with a hundred exercises based on the categories on the website: Grammar, Games, Vocabareas, Word Focus and Word Groups. Future books will focus on each of these areas in turn. If you buy the book, you will also get access to a hundred interactive exercises on this website.
We have also published the first in a new series of vocabulary practice books: The Latin Heart of English: English Vocabulary Practice Volume 1. This is a unique series, which extends the ideas of using Latin roots to practice English vocabulary, as we have shown in our Special Focus section. The book comprises one hundred exercises along with explanatory notes on pronunciation, prefixes, the roots and their derivations, and the history of Latin and French words in English. The exercises are designed for all intermediate and advanced students to use, but they will be of special interest and benefit to students whose first language is French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or Romanian.
